Sr. High Mission Trip
For the Sr. High mission trip this summer (July 20-25) we are working with Youthworks at their site in Queens. One of five boroughs in New York City, Queens is one of the most diverse communities in the world. It has a population of 2.24 million people, almost half of which are foreign-born. Girls will be staying at the First Presbyterian Church of Jamaica. The guys will be staying at St Stephens Episcopal Church about a mile away. Some of our service activities include: Kids Club, Senior Centers - (Elm York, Madison York Assisted Living, Madison York Senior Center), a Neighborhood Beautification Project at Flushing Meadows Corona Park and Children's Summer Programs possibly helping local churches running VBS programs. In the evenings, we get to explore the neighborhood on a scavenger hunt, visit Rockaway Beach, share a meal at a soup kitchen housed at a 350-year-old church, worship with local congregations, and have a blast at a community cookout. The theme for the week is "Live Like Jesus" and our key passage for the week is John 13:1-17. We have 9 people going and would appreciate your prayers, specifically that God's spirit would be unleashed and that we will be able to witness Him working in our lives as we offer ourselves in service.

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School will be July 27th-August 1st. All children preschool-5th grade are welcome. Servant helpers are greatly needed! Please see Tobye David (540-323-1410) or tadavid@comcast.net with questions. Registration forms will be coming soon!

The team members are: Steven DeGroot, Fred and JoAnna Fonville, Bill Franklin, Paul Levesque, Denny and Kathy Lewis. We would like to thank our church family for your faithful support, your gifts and prayers enabling us to continue to go where we are needed.

Lunch Bunch
The lunch bunch will gather Wednesday, July 16, 11:30am at the Butcher Block in Stephens City. Anyone who might enjoy some fellowship and good food with other nice people is invited. There is no other agenda for the gathering. Everyone is responsible for the cost of her/his own meal. The Butcher Block very kindly reserves space for the lunch bunch so we need to give them a head count a day ahead of the gathering. Please let us know you are planning to attend by phoning Kathryn Koerner at 540-869-2575 or by e-mail to Waverly Reames at wgreames@aol.com. Don't miss the fellowship, fun, and good food.

Kitchen Clean-up
With the many groups in our Church that utilize our kitchen, the Trustees ask that you share in the cleaning and maintenance of it. The Trustees are asking that groups of 3, 4, or more people work together to get this much needed job accomplished once a month. On the bulletin board is a sign-up sheet and the office has the list of tasks to be performed. For information contact Marty Dilg at 540-869-4813 or mdilg1@comcast.net.
